Description

The 1996/97 away jersey, worn by true club icons such as Djorkaeff, Ince and Zamorano, harks back to a classic INTER away jersey with the addition of a double Nerazzurri stripe on the sleeve. The jersey with a horizontal Nerazzurri stipe on a white background was first donned in 1926. It is linked to the memory of two prestigious successes for the club: the Intercontinental Cup in 1964 and the European Cup in 1965. It was first worn in 1996/97 in a 3-0 victory away to Guingamp in the UEFA Cup. Its league bow came in a victory on the road over Verona thanks to one of Javier Zanettiā€™s finest goals for the club. Fun fact: it was in 1996/97 that the Lega Calcio introduced patches that could be worn on the sleeves of jerseys. The INTER and Pirelli logos are in the middle of the chest. Nerazzurri collar with white trim.
